Summary
While unloading a flatbed 18-wheeler, the client stepped through a weak part of the flat bed that was covered by debris. The incident tore ligaments in the client’s knee, requiring surgery.
Records could not establish what company owned the poorly maintained flat bed. The delivery that was believed to be responsible for the injury was scheduled to arrive and unload the day before the injury occurred.
After more than a year of the trucking company insisting that the truck that the client was injured on could not have been their truck, James Law Group was able to prove that, because of a historic winter storm south of Missouri, the truck in question could not have made its delivery on the date in the paperwork. Once there was a clear explanation as to why the paperwork said the truck in question was a day late, James Law Group was able to secure a $60,000 settlement.
