The Incident

Following a burglary at a local restaurant, law enforcement honed in on a young man who had previously worked at the establishment. Despite scant evidence, the young man was arrested based on unsubstantiated suspicion.

Summary

After a burglary at a local restaurant, police focused on a young man who had been terminated a few months before. Despite what can only be described as a general suspicion of the young man, police arrested the young man. Because there was a lack of evidence against the young man, the investigating officer falsely claimed that the restaurant owner had identified the young man as one of the burglars. After spending four months incarcerated awaiting trial, the charges were finally dismissed. After obtaining the dismissal, James Law Group was then able to obtain a pre-suit settlement of $225,000 against the police officer who arrested him.
